THURS 20th JAN - SUPPORTING TWIN ATLANTIC - FIBBERS // YORK

Thursday 31 December 2009

Time for us all to reflect...

Without getting too sentimental, that time of the year has come once again to look back over the year 2009 at what we've all achieved - the laughs, the tears, the drunken 'memories', the goals we set and are proud to say we achieved or disappointedly, well...didn't, the friends we made or lost, the best gig/festival of the year, that one song that makes up one more year on the soundtrack of your life....(anyone else feel like we're in an episode of The O.C. - cue powerful, heart-wrenching music!)

For us, it's been a good year. Despite losing out in a Battle of the Bands competition which would have meant a victory for the 3rd year running (York 2007, Scotland's 'Making It Big' 2008), we have instead played with a number of big names on stages of all shapes and sizes. We have supported The Futureheads, Shed Seven, Bear Hands, Red Light Company and Twisted Wheel. We have shared the stages at Sellindge Festival and Copmanthorpe Carnival with the likes of Supergrass, The Holloways and Elliot Minor. We released our second E.P. 'Spider Season' and ventured down for a mini tour in London on top of our 1st stadium appearance to perform 'Snap Shut' before a Leeds Rhino game at Carnegie Stadium. All-in-all it's been a pretty decent year. And we thank you for your support in all of this.

But now it's time to turn over to 2010 and make those all important New Year's resolutions. What are your resolutions for 2010? What is the new year going to bring?

Hopefully bigger stages, bigger names, bigger crowds...
We have been grateful for the money and time you have granted us turning up to our gigs, travelling around and buying our music, as well as the ear-bashing you have received from our Facebook updates (those of you who STILL haven't actually been to a gig, I think we all know what your new year resolution is!).

So raise your glasses. Here's to a new decade. A new year.

The Year of the Ghosts.

Happy New Year!
